“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen,” expressed Taylor on social media, pointing out that this pandemic never stopped her from pursuing her passion.

“Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world,” she added.

Although the entire album was crafted in isolation, she still had the best team who help her pour out her ‘whims, dream, fears, and musings’ into this indubitable hit. Taylor was joined by Bon Iver, Jack Antonoff, and Aaron Dessner on the project with the entire shoot supervised by a medical inspector, social distancing protocols, and Taylor herself doing her own hair, makeup, and styling.

Folklore will have 16 songs on the standard edition, while a bonus track, “the lakes” will also be in the physical deluxe edition, along with eight deluxe CDs and eight deluxe vinyls that will only be available for a week.

This trending release was also stirred by the music video of the single “Cardigan”, a new song Swift also wrote and directed the music video for.

“That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with”, Taylor said voicing her much love for her countless fans around the world.
